Evening skincare routine 2020 for older skin
Today I am sharing my entire evening skincare routine 2020 step-by-step and even with video.
When I first start looking into doing something for my aging skin 5 years ago.
I started to watch other skincare routines on YouTube. I wanted to find out what other people are using, why they are using it, and how they were using it.
And that is why I decided to shear my entire Evening Skincare Routine with you today.

If you’re looking for affordable anti-aging skincare products or skincare on a budget, then this routine is for you.
In my current evening skincare routine 2020 all products are under $30.

I have certain goals I want to achieve for my skin.
Right no it’s targeted toward improving skin elasticity, maintaining and hopefully improving the skin barrier, and reducing skin redness.
I don’t mind wrinkles or age spots that much.
If you have similar skin type and skin goals then you will love this skincare routine.
My evening skincare routine 2020 gives the best results, in terms of moisture to your skin and minimizing skin irritation.
Each product in my advanced anti-aging evening routine plays an important role in achieving the skin I want to see!
And it’s BUDGET FRIENDLY!
Now, I am not a dermatologist and not a doctor, I am just sharing my experience.
Evening Skincare Routine 2020

STEP 1: REMOVE MAKEUP
The goal here is to have a freshly clean face ready for applying other products. I do it before hopping into the shower.
I use a steps cleansing process.
First, I use MUJI Mild Moisture Face Wash Foam, and second, I wipe the remaining eye makeup with cotton round soaked in Garnier Micellar Water (Dry, Sensitive skin).
Mild Moisture Face Wash Foam has a creamy consistency and foams when applied with wet hands. Leather it around your face for about a minute or two. It removes makeup and mineral sunscreen from my face while giving my face moisture. Afterward, my face doesn’t feel tight at all!
The only downside, it doesn’t remove mascara that well.
That’s why I use Garnier Micellar Water after to remove mascara and any last traces of makeup or sunscreen.
Now for the shower.

STEP 2: RETINOID CREAM
Stieva-A Cream (tretinoin 0.05), in Canada this cream available only with a doctor’s prescription.
Tretinoin or Vitamin A is my anti-aging weapon. It speeds up the turnover of skin cells and increases collagen production. Basically, it tells a skin cell to behave, and even to look like a more normal, healthy, younger skin cell.
I use a pea-size retinoid cream and spread it around my face avoiding eyes and neck.
Retinoids can be quite irritating to your skin. Niacinamide can help decrease retinol irritation, and on top of that add barrier function benefit!
TIP: If you have irritation from Retinol/Retinoid then when incorporating both in your evening skincare routine apply Niacinamide FIRST and Retinol AFTER. My skin is used to Retinoid cream and I apply it first. This way I will get more anti-aging benefits from retinol.

STEP 3: SERUM
The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
Let’s look at the impressive list of all the things Niacinamide can do for YOU!!!
NIACINAMIDE SKIN BENEFITS
- anti-inflammatory / redness
- minimize fine lines and wrinkles
- increase toleration to retinoids
- increase ceramide production
- melasma / hyperpigmentation
- boosts collagen production
- minimize pore appearance
- regulate sebum production
- ease symptoms of eczema
Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) is an effective skin-repairing ingredient that can increase skin hydration, brighten skin tone, and remove fine lines, as well as making skin less irritable to Retinol.
It’s one of my holy grail ingredients. After using it for two months, I noticed that my fine lines became less visible, and my eyelids were not as hooded as they used to be.

SPEP 4: ANTI-PIGMENTATION
The Ordinary Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA
Niacinamide partners well with Retinoids and helps to tolerate retinoids better.
In conjunction with Alpha Arbutin, it visibly lightens age spots and gives your face distinct radiance.
Once it absorbs into the skin, enzymes break it down into the active form of hydroquinone. Hydroquinone is the ingredient that lightens pigmentation.
STEP 5: MOISTURIZER
Olay Regenerist Night Recovery Cream (fragrance-free)
Its intense moisture hydrates skin through the night. I use a fragrance-free formula.
This cream is AMAZING! Super hydrating and it absorbs quickly into the skin. It also helps to calm the redness in my skin.
OK
I KNOW
It took me a long time to show you how I use each product and what the product does for my skin.
