Easy Winged Eyeliner Tutorial for Mature Hooded Eyes for Beginners

Have you struggled to create a winged eyeliner for mature wrinkly hooded eyes?
I understand your struggle.
Winged eyeliner magically lifts the eye, makes upper lashes appear thicker, and is great for close-set eyes.
But doing one on mature sagging eyes isn’t always easy especially if you have hooded eyes.
Usually, when I’ve attempted to create a winged eyeliner instead of lifting my eyes they look more saggy and droopy.

Easy Winged Eyeliner Tutorial for Mature Hooded Eyes for Beginners
This is one of the best ways to create a winged eyeliner look on mature eyes.
What you need is a brown/gray/black soft eye pencil. I am using Essence Extreme Lasting Eye Pencil.
Plus, dark matte eyeshadow. I am using Elf Cosmetics Bite-Size Eyeshadow (cream and sugar).
This is key for creating this look.
Next, you’ll want to use a small, detailed brush. I am using Morphe M213.
Step 1: Eye Primer

STEP 1: Eye Primer.
This is an optional step but will help you to create a smooth surface that will help the eyeshadow to stay longer without creasing and disappearing.
I am using my favorite MAC Cosmetics Paint Pod (A51 Painterly).
Step 2: Create a Winged Eyeliner in the form of a Seagull Wing.

Look into the Mirror. This helps you to make sure you’re applying eyeliner in the correct spot. I love my 5X magnifying mirror with LED light for that. This mirror is perfect for applying makeup when you can’t see well.
Map out an outer corner of the future winged eyeliner. The goal is to create the shape of the seagull wing.

Step 3: Eyeliner near the lashes

Map out an outer corner and connect it to the lash line.
Using small strokes starts to line your eye. Work your way to the outer corner making the line thicker as you go and connecting it to the “Seagull Wing”.
After you map your outline, stretch your skin and fill up the gaps.
It makes so much more sense in my VIDEO.
STEP 4: Smoke Winged Eyeliner

Fill winged eyeliner with a dark matte shade, blending it toward the center of the eye. I used Morphe M213 for this job.
STEP 5: Blend A Light Medium Shade All Through the Crease, Diffusing Upward

I am using a swirl of light-yellow color with a touch of dark brown eyeshadow as my transition color. The goal is to softly defuse the crease, you do not have to be too precise. Just make sure that you see it when you look straight into the mirror with your eyes relaxed.
If your hood goes all the way to the inner corner of your eye, then apply transitional color there too. Just to make sure it’s not too dark. You want to keep the darkest part of eyeshadow on the outer corner of your eyes.
STEP 6: To Enhance the Visible Lid, Sweep A Shimmery Shade Across Mobile Lid
Apply with your finger light matte or shimmery eyeshadow on the mobile lid will help your eyes pop. But you can use any color on the mobile lid, whatever you want blue, orange, green, or glitter. Really whatever you want.
Step 7: Clean up

Darken the winged eyeliner a bit more with an eye pencil if needed. Clean up under the eyes and apply concealer.
STEP 8: Apply Mascara

Curl your lashes (optional) and apply mascara. My eyelashes are very short so I like to add false eyelashes to finish the look. My favorite is Morphe DTLA.
It is the only way I can create a winged eyeliner on my mature hooded eyes.
So, if you’ve struggled give this one a try.
