Naturtint light ash blonde 10A hair dye review

before and after photos for Naturtint light ash blond 10A hair dye for gray hair coverage

Does the Naturtint light ash-blonde 10A Hair Dye cover gray hair?

Answer coming.

Before that a little bit about my hair.

It’s thin, dry, medium length, and used to be medium blond.

Now I have 60% of gray hair.

I started to go gray in my 30th and colored my hair since.

Last year I noticed that my tried and true L’Oréal Paris permanent hair dye stopped sticking to my gray hair roots.

And I am not ready to go gray yet.

So, I started a hunt for the best box hair dye, that will color my gray hair and don’t go brassy.

My Criteria for Hair Color

  • It must last a long time
  • Must be permanent
  • Good gray coverage
  • The fewer harmful chemicals the better
  • Color looks natural
  • Do it yourself at home

While shopping at Whole Foods, I noticed Natur tint’s permanent hair color without ammonia and SLS and decided to give it a try.

With L’Oréal Paris excellence cream I use Medium Ash Blond color C3.

Naturtint has only one color in Ash – 10A “Light Ash Blond”.

It looks a bit light on me, but oh well.

Look at the photos of the result, it went so brassy.

Certainly, I will not purchase this hair dye color again.

Naturtint Light Ash Blonde 10A Hair Dye Review

  • Colored gray hair 100%
  • My hair felt so soft after.
  • Way too brassy certainly not ash
  • Lasted 4 weeks

Purple shampoo helped to cut down brassiness. And I didn’t notice any more hair fall out than usual.

Naturtint Light Ash Blonde 10A Hair Dye Ingredients

There always will be potentially harmful ingredients in any hair dye. Those ingredients needed to cover gray hair.

COLORANT

PEG-2 OLEAMINE – thickening agent and classified by the European Union as harmful to the skin. Please make sure you color only your hair and protect the skin around with a towel and an old T-shirt.

  • WATER/EAU – purified water
  • PEG-4 RAPESEEDAMIDE – hair coloring composition
  • ALCOHOL DENAT
  • PROPYLENE GLYCOL – solvent for pigments. Great humectant for curly hair
  • ETHANOLAMINE – used to replace ammonia. Odorless and not as corrosive as ammonia.
  • OLEIC ACID – gelling and surfactant agent, that makes hair color more efficient, and easier to apply and rinse.
  • A very small percentage of; Vegetable protein, Limnanthes alba (meadowfoam seed oil), Tetrasodium glutamate diacetate, sodium metabisulfite, Sodium erythorbate, p=phenylenediamine, 4-chloresorcinol. 2-methyl resorcinol, 2-amino-4hydroxyethylaminoanisole sulfate, and other sulfates.
  • Key Takeaway. Like all hair dyes, it has some harmful chemicals and may cause skin irritation.

COLOR DEVELOPER

  • Water/EAU, HYDROGEN PEROXIDE, CETYL ALCOHOL, CETEARYL ALCOHOL, LAURETH-3,
  • CETEARETH-20, OXYQUINOLINE SULFATE, PHOSPHORIC ACID.

Key Takeaways

I like this dye. It is an effective gray hair colorant with lasting results. Maybe will buy Naturtint hair dye again but in a darker shade.
