This natural one-eye shadow look could not be faster or easier and will get you out the door looking amazing in less than five minutes.

The great thing about working with cream shadows is that you can layer them. Going from supper sheer to intense. All you have to do is keep layering, and I think that’s why they are so user-friendly.

Because if you are not the best at eyeshadow it’s really just a soft layering process, they don’t dry immediately, you can use your fingers to manipulate them if you mess it up.

It’s the perfect quick and easy, beginner-friendly eye shadow look and it enhances older, droopy hooded eyes as effectively as more complicated looks.

I also like that you can transform this look from day to evening in a second.

How to Apply and Transform Your Eyes with Just One Color Cream Eyeshadow?

It takes only a couple of minutes to do.

You can use the same technique with kohl eyeliner, the one that has a creamier texture or cream eyeshadow. It depends on your preferences.

Why don’t I show you the same look using both eyeliner and cream eyeshadow?

The great thing about this technique is that you don’t have to be precise at all when you put it on because you’re going to smudge and blend it out.

What Cream Eyeshadow Should You Use?

Cream eye-shadows come in a variety of formats.

They can come in a tube that looks like a lip gloss with a doe-foot applicator.
They can look like a crayon that you just draw the shadow with.
And they can come in a pot that you apply with a brush or your finger.

I used EYE COLOUR STICK “CYPRUS BRONZE” from The Body Shop for this tutorial, but Laura Mercier Caviar will be better for this technique.

Any of these types of cream eyeshadows can work fine for this look as long as the shadow meets these conditions:

❤ It blends easily and does not dry right away but gives you a bit of time to blend it out.

❤ It’s fairly dark because you’re going to use it as a dark color in the outer corner of your eye and then blend it out to almost a transparent color in the inner corner so you need a color that’s dark enough to be noticeable when blended out.

You can use plum, dark brow, gray, or navy, whatever you in to.

❤ Make sure you are working with a shade that is on a satin or mat side. It can have a little bit of shimmer to it, but you don’t want it to be overly metallic. It’s just a placement where we going to apply it doesn’t go with metallic or shimmery shade.

So I am going to be working with “EYE COLOUR STICK “CYPRUS BRONZE“ from The Body Shop in this tutorial today because it blends easily, gives me some time to work with, and is the only dark shade I own in cream eyeshadow stick.

The Laura Mercier Caviar shadows will be amazing for this look.

I would not recommend using CoverGirl Shadow Sticks. They dry out extremely fast and don’t give you enough time to blend them out.

As always, pick the one that you like best. Or be like me and switch things up according to your mood.

Easy One Color Cream Eyeshadow Eye Makeup for Mature Hooded Eyes

BRUSH:

I am going to use a crease brush from Elf to blend eyeshadow. You can use any brush you own as long as it’s dance, small tapered, or flat. Something you can have more precision with. You do not want it to be big and fluffy, which you normally would use for your crease.

STEP 1:

Cover the Eye Area with Eye-shadow Primer or Concealer

This look needs primer or concealer even more than a regular eye makeup look because the primer creates a smooth, consistent color on your eyelids and brightens your lids, so they stand out more against the droopy hood.

I pat on Morphe’s eyelid primer. It’s a full-coverage primer so it covers the veins and freckles on your mature lids.

STEP 2:

Start at the outer corner of my eye near the lash line, almost like applying eyeliner. The only difference is, depending on how small or large your eyes are you want to start with a small amount.

Using a brash I am starting to blend shadow across my lash line, so I have a good base of color. Again, almost as if you are applying eyeliner.

STEP 3:

Once it blends out on the eyelash line, slowly bring it to the outer corner of your eye. Using a light hand, strategically place color in the outer corner of the eye.

Right here.

And it’s just brings a nice soft hazy definition that not overwhelming.

Just really having a light hand and lightly tapping the product into your skin.

STEP 4:

So, once you have barely any product left on my brash, start to bring eyeshadow across your crease, just for a little bit more definition.

And once you start working with a super sheer amount of product, that is left on your brush, it’s transformed into alamos like a secondary color. It looks like you are wearing more than one color on your eye.

Really quick natural everyday look, that will be sufficient for the day. If you want to bump things up and get this to the next level.

Apply more eyeshadow at the outer corner of your eye and blend it out focusing more on the outer corner.

TIP:

If you are new to this technique try to keep color on eye outer portion, and whatever is left on a brush carry it into the crease and just leave nice brightness in your inner corner.

That’s how you can end up with a RACCOON EYE LOOK sometimes. And it also brightens your eyes and makes you look more awake.

STEP 5:

To finish the look, you can take a little bit of product and sweep it on a lower lash line. I like to leave mine as is.

STEP 6:

I am going to add some mascara and boom we are done.

It doesn’t get easier than this.

Once again you can wear it sheerer or intensify it.

This look is great for traveling, just through an eyeshadow stick and brush in your purse and you are good to go. This is a one-and-done look.

If you have an oily eyelid and are afraid that eyeshadow will crease, you can apply a little bit of translucent powder over it. It will set eyeshadows but will not alter the color.

And I know, everybody is different and has personal preferences. This is just a versatile type of application and method for applying a quick and pretty eyeshadow look, that transforms your eyes.
