Air Fryer Can Tuna Patties, are so easy to make! The tuna patties come out crispy and golden brown after being cooked in the air fryer.

Tuna patties (sometimes called tuna cakes tuna balls or air fryer tuna croquettes) are easy, affordable, and delicious. And they’re ready in just 30 minutes and require no preheating!

Healthy – This recipe uses only a little oil, so it’s a lot less than deep-frying tuna patties. And that means less cleanup too!

Customizable – You can easily customize the tuna patties with whatever seasonings and spices you prefer.

These tuna patties are an excellent option on those nights when you don’t feel like cooking an elaborate meal. I love making them because they are easy, affordable, and tasty. They are also substantial and filling.

Ingredients

  • 1 can of light tuna in water (around 120 grams)

  • 1 large egg

  • 100 gr of softened cream cheese

  • 100 gr of almond flour (1 cup) or 180 grams of finely chopped almonds

  • Black paper to taste

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika

  • YOGURT SAUCE:
  • 3 tablespoons Greek or coconut yogurt or sour cream

  • 1 clove of garlic

  • A little lemon zest

  • 1 teaspoon of olive oil

  • Salt to taste

  • 2 springs onions (green parts only)

Directions

  • PREPARE THE MIXTURE: Drain the can of tuna and set aside. Add the egg, 100 gr softened cream cheese, and 1 cup of ground almond to the bowl. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  • Next, add any seasonings, spices, or herbs that you like to the bowl (skip salt). Break apart any large chunks of tuna with a fork and add them to a bowl. Mix with a fork until completely combined.
  • Lightly grease the air fryer basket/tray with cooking spray or a small amount of oil to prevent the patties from sticking.
  • FORM PATTIES: Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into patties of desired size. Make sure to compact them gently so they hold their shape. Makes 6-7 tuna patties approximately.
  • AIR FRY THE PATTIES: Air fry the patties at 375°F (190°C) for about 8-10 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time. Cook until the patties are golden brown and cooked through.
  • MAKE YOGURT SAUCE: Mix in a small bowl 3 tablespoons of sour cream (Greek or coconut yogurt, 1 clove of garlic, a little lemon zest, 1 teaspoon of olive oil, salt to taste, and 2 spring onions (green parts only).
