The Dreamy Garden Party was inspired by the patio at Ralph’s in Paris.

The patio at Ralph’s in Paris

I am always dreaming of al fresco entertaining and breezy tablescapes. The patio at Ralph’s restaurant in Paris is the most beautiful outdoor seating area and it provides so much inspiration for a backyard or spring table setup.

The layering of different stripes with pretty florals and the classic blue & white palette give this space so much dimension and somehow it feels homey given its grand scale.

I can’t wait for the warm spring weather and the chance to set some pretty garden party tables again finally!

Set an Effortless but Beautiful Table for Your French Garden Party

Incorporated mismatched china, Depression-era cut glass, vintage bamboo cutlery, and embroidered linen napkins to bring an air of sophistication outdoors.

I do like these plates. They are melamine and the blue floral pattern is very pretty.

Hurricane Candle Holders

Hurricane Candle Holders

These are truly blue glass and I’m loving them.

Don’t forget flowers and plenty of candles, but don’t overcrowd the table. Less is more. I like to light the candles a bit before the dinner party starts so that they burn down to a cozier and more inviting height.

I also love bringing in natural elements to make the tablescape look less fussy and a bit rustic.

Menu for French Inspired Garden Party

Farm-to-table isn’t just a trend in France, it’s a way of life. A big part of shopping for any French dinner is visiting the local market and specialty shops. Steal this trick by buying fresh seasonal ingredients and planning your dinner menu around what’s available at your local farmers market.

If possible, purchase cheese from a cheese shop, bread from a bakery, and dessert from your favorite dessert shop. The quality will be much better and it’ll make all the difference in your dreamy garden party in the backyard!

Minimize the stress of entertaining with a great playlist and a signature cocktail.

SERVE ON-THEME DESSERTS

Serve on-theme desserts

Impress your guests by turning peaches and puff pastry into a gorgeous dessert. These edible blooms taste as good as they look.

Get the recipe from Delish.

Or just buy pastry from a French bakery.

Some of my favorite and easy things to serve are

  • cheese platter with grapes,
  • smoked salmon canapes,
  • olives,
  • and salmon with asparagus for the main course

In France, coffee is served as a separate course, not with dessert. Offer tea for those that don’t drink coffee, but otherwise just make a simple pot of coffee or espressos if you have an espresso machine.

Enjoy the party.
